How is elron club different from a traditional Swiss rental?
elron club rents move-in-ready furnished apartments from 3 months. Monthly rent, furniture, utilities, power, internet, move-out cleaning, and personal support are bundled into one managed offer.
Is there a minimum rental period?
Yes, the minimum rental period is 3 months. After that, the contract continues on an open-ended basis.
What is the notice period?
Notice periods in Switzerland are set by law at 3 months.
What's included in the monthly rent?
The monthly rent includes furnishings, utilities, electricity, heating, internet, and standard fees. There are no hidden costs; only the Serafe household fee is not part of the rent.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes, the security deposit is generally 2 months' rent. In cases of elevated rental risk, it may be increased up to 3 months' rent under Swiss rental law. With Homie, you can choose between a bank deposit and a subscription deposit guarantee. For the subscription deposit guarantee, tenants pay 5% of the guaranteed amount per year, plus a CHF 20.00 platform fee and statutory stamp duty. For a CHF 5'000.00 deposit, the annual total is CHF 283.50 (CHF 250.00 premium, CHF 20.00 platform fee, and CHF 13.50 stamp duty). The premium is charged annually in advance. The amount displayed by Homie and the current insurance terms are authoritative. The insurance does not replace the tenant's personal liability: if Homie pays Elron Club under the guarantee, the tenants must reimburse the amount paid and the costs due under the insurance terms.
When is rent due?
Rent is due no later than the 1st of each month. The first month's rent and the security deposit are due 10 days after the contract is signed.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfers in CHF. Credit cards are accepted for monthly rent but not for the security deposit.
Are all apartments furnished?
Yes, we rent furnished apartments exclusively.
Is the kitchen fully equipped?
Yes, the kitchen is fully equipped and ready to use.
Are bed linens and towels included?
Yes, one set of bed linens and towels is provided in the apartment at move-in.
Are a washing machine and dryer included, and are they private?
Yes, every apartment has a private washing machine, and in most cases a separate dryer as well. These are usually located inside the apartment, occasionally in the basement.
Are regular cleanings or the final cleaning included in the price?
Move-out cleaning is included. Regular maintenance cleaning can be booked separately when needed.
How does check-in work?
The apartment handover can be done remotely or in person. Let us know your preference.
Do I need a residence permit to rent with elron club?
Residence permit matters are the sole responsibility of the tenant. You must register with the municipality on move-in (primary residence or weekly stay).
Can the elron club rental contract be used to register a residence and apply for a residence permit?
Yes, all our apartments are eligible for residence registration.
Can the rental contract be signed by a company?
Yes, the contract can be signed by a company, but the residing individuals are also listed as contract parties. Invoicing can be addressed to any company or individual.
Is elron club suitable for corporate relocation or project stays?
Yes, when the need is longer-term living for people arriving in Switzerland who should feel at home. The rental contract can be handled through a company while the residents are recorded clearly.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are generally allowed, depending on the species and number. Specifics are clarified before the contract is signed.
Is there a 24/7 emergency service?
Whether a 24/7 emergency service is available depends on the location and the issue. All emergency contacts are documented in our Help Center.
